Acoustic Energy has launched a dedicated ‘AE’ version of the hi-fidelity stereo Bluetooth loudspeakers that it originally designed and manufactured for leading mobile phone operator Orange. Building on the strengths and success of the original model, the enhanced AE version opens up the technology to MP3 phone users on other networks and is compatible with any advanced Bluetooth enabled device. No searching for dedicated cables or connectors – just pair and play.

At just £99, the AE stereo Bluetooth loudspeakers are also packed with new audio enhancements, including Kevlar speaker drivers, to further improve sound quality.

Capable of forming the heart of a wireless home audio system, AE’s stereo Bluetooth loudspeakers use Advanced Audio Distribution Profile (A2DP) technology to achieve wireless wide bandwidth stereo over distances of up to 10m. The sound quality benefits from AE’s 20 years experience in compact hi-fidelity loudspeakers.

Packed with a potent 20Watt amplifier the AE Bluetooth speaker system has been designed for pair and play ease of use and automatically links to paired Bluetooth devices in range. Mobile phones, PDAs, PCs or MP3 players with a stereo Bluetooth output can be paired with the new loudspeaker system for instant playback on demand. Users simply select a track or playlist, press play and the Bluetooth loudspeaker system creates room-filling hi-fi sound suitable for any room in the home. Smartphones using Windows Mobile 5.0 or later also function as a remote control for volume.

For improved stereo imaging the stereo mini-monitor loudspeakers can be detached from the Bluetooth receiver/amplifier unit and separated by up to 2m. The cleanly designed fascia offers a single volume knob and pairing button, and a line-level stereo input on the rear panel means even non-Bluetooth devices, such as an iPod or portable CD player, can be used as a source.
